2 arrested after high-speed chase in Jefferson City

Thu, 08 Aug 2013 17:50:00 GMT — Two people were arrested Wednesday night after a high-speed chase in Jefferson City.A deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on US HWY 54 at Ellis Blvd. The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.The pursuit went from Ellis to Route C, Vieth Drive, Southridge Drive, Concord Ave, Lexington Drive and ended up in the front yard of 1956 Saratoga Drive.During the pursuit, the suspect intentionally rammed the initiating sheriffâ??s deputy twice and a second deputy once. No one was injured and two people in the car were taken into custody.Rodney Ronimous, the driver, was arrested for the following:3 counts of second-degree officer assaultDriving while suspendedFelony possession of heroineResisting arrest2 counts of property destructionFelony warrant out of Callaway County for second-degree domestic assaultJenifer Johnson, the passenger, was arrested for the following:Resisting arrestReceiving stolen propertyWarrant for possession of dangerous non-narcotic drugsBoth were transported to the Cole County Jail without incident and are awaiting formal charges.
