Fire investigators said a fire this morning at a Columbia restaurant caused more than a million dollars worth of damage.
Firefighters were called to the El Maguey Mexican Restaurant on Nifong shortly after 6:30a.m.
They say an active fire was located in the kitchen and had extended to the walls and attic.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control within 15 minutes.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A lower level business, Valhalla's Gate, suffered smoke and water damage.
