Thu, 11 Apr 2013 22:14:56 GMT — The head of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said his agency provided a list of about 163,000 Missouri residents with concealed gun permits to federal authorities. That admission has Republican lawmakers â?? and even some Democrats â?? calling for resignations and legislative action.Public safety officials, meanwhile, claim they did nothing illegal. They cite statutes that provide for the release of private information for legitimate law enforcement purposes.State Senator Kurt Schaefer is planning a series of hearings around the state to let the public sound off on the issue, while House Speaker Tim Jones is calling on Attorney General Chris Koster to appoint a commission to study the information-sharing.
