Sen. Bond to speak at Mizzou on autism

      Sen. Kit Bond

Sen. Kit Bond (R-Missouri) is scheduled to visit the University of Missouri TMs Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment disorders today. This comes after a bill mandating insurance coverage for autism therapy got initial approval in the Missouri House. The bill would require group insurance policies to cover up to $36,000 annually of behavioral therapy for people with autism age 18 and younger.Senators have already passed a more generous plan.Autism insurance legislation did pass the senate last year but never came to a vote in the House, where some members were concerned about its effect on insurance premiums. This year's bill needs to pass another House vote, to go to the Senate.
