Graves faces Democrat Hylton in Congress race

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri Congressman Sam Graves has won the Republican primary for a congressional district covering the northwestern part of the state.

Graves has represented the district since winning election in 2000. He faces Democrat Clint Hylton, who was unopposed in Tuesday's primary election. Hylton lives on a farm near Polo northeast of Kansas City.

The 6th Congressional District has favored Republicans and covers northern and north-central Missouri, including St. Joseph and part of Kansas City.
