Wed, 03 Apr 2013 20:40:41 GMT — Columbia Mayor Bob McDavid won his second term in office Tuesday.McDavid defeated challenger Sid Sullivan with more than 60% of the vote.He said he's anxious to speak with newly elected council members Karl Skala and Ian Thomas. He added that his priorities will continue to be jobs, infrastructure and crime prevention during his second term.â??You spend a lot of time as mayor," McDavid said. "You go through a lot of initiatives and a lot of work. You really need validation periodically. You need to touch base with the citizens to make sure that they agree with what you are doing.â??McDavid said he is also proud of his past accomplishments, including pension reform for city employees and his work to expand services at Columbia Regional Airport.
