4 appointed as associate judges in Missouri

Gov. Jay Nixon has appointed several new associate circuit court judges around Missouri.

The appointments announced Tuesday will fill vacancies or newly created seats.

Nixon appointed:

-Former Judge Patrick Flynn to again serve as a judge in Lincoln County. He was an associate circuit judge from 1991 to 2002 and now will replace Judge Ben Burkemper, who resigned to join the attorney general's office.

-Attorney Jalilah Otto as a judge in Jackson County. She will succeed Judge Kenneth Garrett III, who was appointed last year to a circuit judgeship.

-Attorney Cynthia MacPherson as a judge in Ozark County. She will replace retired Judge John Jacobs.

-Warren County Prosecutor Michael Wright as a judge in Warren County. He will fill a newly created position.
